Tractor Trailer Accident Causes NY Pileup

The truck accident scene is still being investigated but early Wednesday afternoon a tractor trailer smashed into several vehicles on the Long Island Expressway. The truck was traveling eastbound when it struck several vehicles, causing a 35 vehicle pileup. At least three vehicles, including the tractor trailer, caught fire.

This unfortunate accident claimed the life of one individual and sent 33 others to the hospitals with injuries. The news report stated that the car that was involved in the initial collision with the truck was completely incinerated, the driver of which was killed.

The police chief commented that because the scene looked so serious, one would think there was more than one fatality.
